Didn't get to pick up the camera until this evening, but it was worth the wait to get these shots for the week's
I Heart Macro post. The kids and I went out to the property to visit our friends' mule and horses, who are grazing out there for a while... a long while, I hope. They're warming up to us, and we'll start riding them soon -- a fair trade for the forage and running room, don't you think? We'll all start on Goliath the mule (a gentle giant) and switch to the horses as we get more comfortable. I can't wait -- I haven't ridden in a few years and haven't ridden regularly since I was a teenager. Just being around horses again, close up and personal... oh yes, it's heavenly.

Spectacular shots! The second one is wild. :)
I love the yawning photo! They look so vicious even though they are just sleepy:)
I absolutely LOVE LOVE Goliath yawning! Incredible shot. Hope you're riding very soon. Sounds like so much fun.
Incredible shots, love the yawn!
::sigh:: I miss horses. One day ;) I love both of these macro shots, but have to say that that eye just is gorgeous.
oh, I am laughing....the neighbors have mules and that mouth shot is so typical...both are wonderful..but I really love the yawn...or greeting as the 2 across the road belt out the minute they see someone.
